GTA Lockman Mobile Locksmith Services provides a full range of residential locksmith services for homeowners, condo owners, and tenants across Toronto and the GTA. Whether you are locked out of your house, need the locks changed after a move, want to rekey to a single key for all entry points, or are upgrading the deadbolts on an older home, our licensed technicians can handle the job at your location without a return visit.
Every technician carries a full stock of residential hardware including deadbolts, knob sets, and cylinders from major brands, along with key cutting equipment for on-site key duplication. The flat-rate quote is given before any work starts, and the job is completed during the same visit in the large majority of residential calls.
Our technicians handle the full range of residential lock and security needs at your location, in a single visit.
Locked out of your home? Our technicians use non-destructive methods to open the door wherever the lock allows, keeping your hardware intact. We carry picks and bypass tools for all common residential cylinders in Toronto-area homes. If the lock cannot be opened without damage, we discuss the options before proceeding. After opening, a rekey or lock change can be done at the same visit.
When you move into a home in Toronto or anywhere in the GTA, you cannot know how many copies of the existing keys are in circulation. Previous owners, contractors, neighbours, and real estate agents may all have copies. Replacing the lock hardware entirely eliminates that uncertainty. We carry Schlage, Kwikset, and Baldwin hardware on the van and can replace all entry locks in a single visit.
Rekeying changes the internal pin configuration of the cylinder so that only the new key works. It is a reliableer and less expensive option than a full lock change when the hardware itself is in good condition and you simply want to invalidate existing keys. We can also key multiple locks alike during a single visit, so one key opens every entry point in your home. Rekeying takes around 15 minutes per lock and is completed on site.
A knob lock alone is not adequate security for a primary exterior door. A properly installed Grade 1 deadbolt with a reinforced strike plate secured by 3-inch screws provides substantially greater kick-in resistance. If your exterior doors do not have a deadbolt, or if the existing deadbolt is a builder-grade Grade 3 unit, we can install an upgraded deadbolt during the same visit. We drill the deadbolt bore if one does not exist and fit the strike plate correctly to the door frame.
Keypad and smart locks remove the need to carry a physical key and allow access codes to be managed remotely. They fit the same standard 2-1/8-inch door bore as a conventional deadbolt, so most existing residential doors can accept a keypad model without modification. We supply and install models from Schlage, Kwikset, and other major brands, set up the initial access codes, and verify all entry methods before leaving the job. See our keypad lock installation page for more detail.
We carry key cutting equipment on the service van and can duplicate residential keys on site during any visit. If you need a spare cut from an existing key, or if the original key was lost and a new one needs to be cut from the cylinder, both are handled at your location. Keys are cut and verified against the lock before we leave. For high-security key profiles such as Medeco or Mul-T-Lock, duplication requires an authorized cutter with the correct blank and we can advise on this when you call.
Moving into a resale home or a previously rented property in Toronto or the GTA means the locks on the door have a history you do not know. Standard practice in Ontario real estate is to hand over the keys at closing, but that does not mean all copies have been returned. Previous occupants, property managers, contractors who worked on the home, and emergency contacts who held keys may still have them.
The most thorough approach after taking possession is to replace the lock hardware on all exterior entry points. This gives you certainty rather than assumption. If the existing hardware is Grade 1 and in good condition, rekeying is a cost-effective alternative that changes the key without replacing the lock body. Either way, the work takes a few hours and is completed in a single visit. We also recommend checking the deadbolt strike plate installation on the door frames. Builder-installed strike plates in many Toronto tract homes are held with short screws that offer minimal kick-in resistance. Replacing them with a reinforced strike plate and 3-inch screws is a straightforward improvement.
New Possession

Good Hardware

Strike Plates
Upgrade to reinforced strike plates with 3-inch screws on all deadbolts.
Spare Keys
Cut spare keys on site after rekeying so your household has the right number of copies.
GTA Lockman Mobile Locksmith Services dispatches mobile technicians from multiple locations across Toronto and the GTA, which keeps travel times short in most neighbourhoods. When you call (647) 955-3277, the dispatcher will give you an estimated arrival time based on your specific address and current technician positions. For most areas of Toronto, Markham, Mississauga, Vaughan, and the surrounding municipalities, arrival is typically within 30 to 60 minutes.
If the existing lock hardware is Grade 1, in good condition, and of a brand whose cylinders we stock, rekeying is the reliableer and less expensive option. It changes the key without replacing the hardware. If the existing hardware is builder-grade, visibly worn, or a brand with limited cylinder availability, replacing the locks entirely makes more sense. Our technician will assess the hardware when they arrive and give you a recommendation with pricing for both options before starting work.
Yes. Keying multiple locks alike is a standard part of a residential rekey service. As long as all cylinders are compatible keyway types, we can pin all of them during a single visit so one key opens every entry point. If the existing hardware uses different keyways across different locks, we will advise on the options, which may include replacing one or more cylinders with a compatible type.
We carry and install hardware from Schlage, Kwikset, Baldwin, Weiser, and other standard residential brands. For high-security applications we work with Mul-T-Lock and Medeco. The specific models available on the van at any given time cover Grade 1 deadbolts, knob sets, and lever sets in the most common finishes. If you have a specific model in mind, mention it when you call and we can confirm availability before dispatching.
For a lockout, you need to be present at the property to verify your identity as the authorized occupant before the technician opens the door. For a scheduled service such as a lock change or rekey, a responsible adult who is an occupant or the authorized property owner needs to be present to authorize the work. For rental properties, a property manager with authorization can also be present on behalf of the owner.
